Panama City Beach Fire Rescue Invitation for sealed bids
The City of Panama City Beach Fire Rescue will be accepting sealed bids for the following items:
Bid Specifications
- Sixty Six (66) APX4500 7/800 mobile radios equipped with 3600 or 9600 trunking baud single system, high visibility "green" control head designed for fire operation. Will include APX O2 control head, Impact green color housing (O2), APX control head software, will be dash mounted, include an ¼ wave 762-870MHZ, a palm mounted microphone, auxiliary 13W speaker, and installation and programming.
- Eight (8) APX6000 700/800 portable radios equipped with, Astro digital CAI operation, smartzone operation, P25 9600 Baud trunking, extreme one-sided noise reduction capability, 4 year extended warranty, single unit charger, FM Li-ion rugged 2900mAh spare battery and include programming.
- One Hundred Twenty Nine (129) APX6000XE portable radios designed exclusively for extreme environments in which firefighters operate, such as high heat, high noise and high moisture. Radios include, Public Safety Green housing, Astro digital CAI operation, smartzone operation, P25 9600 Baud trunking, mandown operation, remote speaker Mic XE-Green, 4 year extended warranty, single unit charger, FM Li-ion rugged 2900mAh spare battery, and Programming. (95) Leather cases with D rings, (95) Fireman’s radio straps, (95) Anti sway straps that all fit the APX radio.
In addition to the items mentioned above, all of the radios will be equipped to work on the existing proprietary 800MHz Motorola SmartNet radio system which is currently in use by Panama City Beach Fire and many other first-responders in Bay County. The radios are also equipped to work on P25 technology, which Panama City Beach Fire and many others in Bay County are planning to migrate to over the next several months.
The City of Panama City Beach reserves the right to accept the bid they deem is in the best interest of the Department. The City will be the final authority in deeming compliance with the specifications. For information and /or specifications, contact

Bids must be sealed, clearly marked and received until 11:00 A.M. (Central Time), June 23, 2015, in the Deputy Fire Chief’s Office, Fire Station #1, 17121 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach, FL 32413, and will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter. The City will not be responsible for bids opened in error, which are incorrectly or inadequately marked.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of (30) days. All documents and bid forms required by the specifications shall be submitted in the original bids.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The City shall award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; provided, however, the City reserves the right to award the contract to a bidder who is not the lowest responsive and responsible bidder if the City determines it its reasonable discretion that another Bid offers the City a better value based upon the reliability, quality of service or product of such other Bidder.
