Plan a Beach Wedding

Dreaming of saying “I do” on the white sandy beach here in beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida?   A wedding on the beach can be the perfect place to begin your forever journey!

To ensure your wedding day goes smoothly, here’s what you need to know:

Small Beach Weddings

For intimate ceremonies with 40 or fewer attendees (including members of the wedding party), the City of PCB makes it simple! Small beach weddings are free and permissible - as long as the City is notified in writing. Just submit the following information on the form below:

  • The name, address, and contact information for both parties
  • Date and time of your ceremony
  • Event location
  • Anticipated number of attendees
  • List of any vendors you’ve hired

Medium Beach Weddings

If there will be between 41 and 100 individuals at your wedding (including members of the wedding party), fill out a beach wedding permit application. Please submit the application at least 14 days before your wedding day as a $50 processing fee applies.

Large Beach Weddings

Planning a larger event with over 100 individuals on the beach? You will need to fill out a special event permit. Since this application involves multiple departments, please allow extra time for review.

Beach Wedding Rules

  • Prohibited Activities: Receptions, food and beverage service (other than water), amplified music above 60 decibels, and vehicle access on the beach.
  • Decor Restrictions: No confetti, rice, glitter, fireworks, tiki torches, or stationary lighting allowed.
  • Respect Nature: Weddings must be at least 100 feet from any marked sea turtle nest.
  • Public Access: Your wedding cannot restrict beach access for others.
  • Business Requirements: If applying for a wedding permit via a business, please ensure the business has an active Business Tax Receipt (BTR) with the City.
  • Leave No Trace: Please return the beach to its pristine condition ensuring no trash is left behind after the ceremony.

Timing Your Ceremony

  • Event Length: Four (4) hours maximum, with one (1) additional hour for setup and breakdown.
  • Timing Around Sunset: Ceremonies must start at least four hours before sunset and wrap up one-hour post-sunset.
