Chief Eusebio Talamantez (J.R.)
Chief Eusebio Talamantez Jr began his professional career in 1999 by honorably serving our nation in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of his military duties, in 2004 Chief Talamantez became a police officer with the Panama City Beach Police Department. Chief Talamantez served as a patrol officer until quickly transitioning to the Special Investigative Unit where he focused on Narcotics and other Vice related crimes. In 2008, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as a first-line supervisor in the Special Investigative Unit. During this time, Chief Talamantez became a taskforce officer with the Department of Homeland Security where he focused his attention on Organized Crime and Federal Investigations.
In 2012, Chief Talamantez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he oversaw Felony Investigations in the Criminal Investigations Division. While serving in this capacity, Chief Talamantez became a subject matter expert in the area of Internet Crimes, specifically Internet Crimes Against Children. Chief Talamantez continues to contribute his expertise to the area of internet safety by holding seminars of the safety Program he created named Parents Against Predators. In 2015, as a reflection of his dedicated work in the area of Human Trafficking, Chief Talamantez was named the Law Enforcement Official of the year by the Governor and Attorney General of Florida.
In October 2015, Chief Talamantez was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assumed the duties of the agencies Intelligence Officer. His responsibilities comprised of managing complex felony investigations, analyzing crime trends and advising the Chief of Police on all matters public safety related.
Chief Talamantez is a proud graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, Session 277, and the Southern Police Institute Command Officer Training Program.
On May 27, 2021, Chief Talamantez was sworn in at the sixth Chief of Police for the City of Panama City Beach. Today he spends much of his time providing leadership, developing community engagement strategies and identifying innovative ways to prevent and combat crimes that threaten the quality of life of our residents. He continues to maintain transparency within the agency and provides an open and honest line of communication to ensure the best service for the community.
