After years of hard work, the Panama City Beach Police Department will celebrate its official accreditation this Friday, October 11, 2024, from Noon to 1 PM, at Panama City Beach City Hall. The City invites the public to stop by to honor and congratulate the men and women of the police department who worked so hard to achieve this impressive milestone.
The prestigious recognition bestowed by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA), reflects the department’s relentless pursuit of excellence and dedication to the safety and well-being of Panama City Beach. The rigorous CFA accreditation process involves an in-depth review of the department’s policies, procedures, and overall operations to ensure they meet or exceed established standards for law enforcement agencies in Florida. Achieving CFA accreditation demonstrates the Panama City Beach Police Department’s success in maintaining the highest standards of service, integrity, and accountability.
City Manager, and former PCB Police Chief, Drew Whitman commended the department for this impressive accomplishment saying, “This accreditation shows our community what we’ve known all along—that the Panama City Beach Police Department is dedicated to protecting and serving our residents and visitors with the utmost integrity. It’s a proud moment for the entire city.”
By meeting or exceeding the rigorous benchmarks established by the CFA, the department has proven itself to be among the most elite law enforcement agencies in the state. Police Chief Eusebio Talamantez added, “This accreditation represents not only a milestone for our department, but a promise to the community that we will continue to uphold the highest standards of law enforcement.”
Friday’s ceremony will be attended by city officials, police department staff, and members of the public, who will help celebrate the momentous occasion.
