Panama City Beach Local Jurisdiction

Panama City Beach, located in southwestern Bay County, is often referred to as the island because of the variety of surrounding bodies of water. Though the island is also sometimes generally referred to as the Beach, not all properties on the Beach are a part of the incorporated areas of the City of Panama City Beach. For Building & Planning and Code Enforcement needs, properties outside of our city limits will be handled by a different jurisdiction.

To determine if your property is within the local jurisdiction of the City of Panama City Beach you may use our Interactive Multilayer City Zoning Map or you can look up your property on the Bay County Property Appraiser website.  On the Bay County Property Appraiser property search any property in our jurisdiction will show Tax District: City of Panama City Beach (District 13).

Permit Search

Our permit search can be used to find basic information for current and past permits. You can use different criteria to search for permits:

  • Permit Number
  • Permit Date
  • Parcel ID
  • Parcel (Property) Address
  • Permit Type
  • Contractor Name

You can also find permit letters and permit certificates when viewing permits.

Inspection Search

Our permit search can also be used to find inspection results. You can view inspection type, status, scheduled and completed dates, and inspector's comments.

All inspections for properties with multiple permits will be listed on the primary permit. For example, a plumbing rough-in inspection for a new single family dwelling will be listed on the general contractor's permit for the single family dwelling.
