Home MenuAlf Coleman Road Project
Alf Coleman Road is currently under construction for roadway improvements from U.S. 98/Panama City Beach Parkway south to Hutchison Boulevard/392A. It is open to all thru-vehicle and pedestrian traffic although may be temporarily reduced to one-lane at times.
The project is substantially complete as of August 2024. The team is completing final touches, moving towards final acceptance within late summer to early fall.
These improvements are exciting not only for drivers but for students who walk this roadway to access Arnold Highschool.
This safety and rehabilitation work started in October 2023 and is primarily funded by partner agencies: the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM). The roadway and sidewalk portions of construction are 100 percent grant funded. The City paid for the design portion and received a $1.6 million grant from FDEM for drainage and utility improvements, resiliency, and raising the roadway. The remaining funds came from the FDOT’s safety funds for sidewalk and lighting improvements, and FDOT’s general highway funds for resurfacing, signalization and signage.
Thank you for continuing to slow down and for using caution as it is still an active work zone.
