Not only does neighborhood watch allow citizens to help in the fight against crime, it is also an opportunity for communities to bond through service. The Neighborhood Watch Program draws upon the compassion of average citizens, asking them to lend their neighbors a hand. The Panama City Beach Police Department utilizes the Next-door application and is able to manage and maintain communication with participating neighborhoods.
Cops N’ Kids Program:
This is an annual event where our local first responders gather together to promote a drug and violence free environment while building strong positive relationships between kids and law enforcement. This also builds the foundation of our youth to have strong positive alternative activities and being successful in life. It is a time where our community’s youth can get to know their local First Responders.
Holiday Helpers:
This annual program with the assistance of our local schools helps less fortunate families during the holiday season by having a can-food drive where complete Thanksgiving and Christmas foods bags are supplied to those less fortunate. During the Christmas Season, many local organizations conduct toy drives and donate those gifts to the police department where they are disseminated to those families. Each year, approximately 200 families benefit from this program along with close to 300 children.
