The Panama City Beach Police Department maintains a police motorcycle unit as a supplement to the normal patrol functions of the Department.  The Unit is made up of several officers of the Department who are experienced in motorcycle operations.  This qualification is in addition to their normal patrol duties.  The "Motor Officers" unit is normally utilized for general patrol, traffic enforcement, parades, and escort duties, and for Spring Break and Thunder Beach motorcycle rallies.  In addition, Motor Officers are more approachable, enabling citizens to discuss their problems and to form better partnerships with police. This improves problem solving and quality of life for the community.
